Querim, also known locally as Keri is the northernmost beach of Goa. The beach lies at the mouth of the Terekhol river on the southern bank. Across the river lies the Terekhol Fort up upon a hillock overlooking the river estuary. One can take a ferry to reach the fort from the beach. The view from the fort is definitely worth a visit. Querim beach is dotted with many pine trees. The waters here are clear and the beach is serene and calm as not many houses and shacks are located here. One can often see tourists and locals fishing on the beach.

Querim beach is located at a distance of 38 kms. from the city of Mapusa and 50 kms. from Panaji. The beach has a lot of trees providing plenty of shade and so is a great picnic spot. Sand dredging along the Terekhol river is an important business here employing a significant number of locals. The sand is used for construction work in the towns of Mapusa and Panaji. The place is not so well developed and there are no major hotels in the region. However, once can easily find accommodation in guest houses and homes with the locals.

Querim beach can be reached by bus from Mapusa; however the frequency is as low as a bus an hour. The best way to get here is by car or bike. The ride is long, and you can see fields, rivers, hills and glimpses of the Terekhol river in the distance along the way.
