Getting There
Kalacha beach can be reached by taking a bus from the town of Mapusa to Arambol beach and then a walk along the northern part to reach Kalacha. Buses leave for Arambol from Mapusa every hour from 6 AM till 7 PM.

Kalacha beach is a small beach located to the south of Querim beach and is known for its sweet water lagoon. The beach has few shacks where one can find something to eat. Accommodation near the beach is primarily at local homes and guest houses. Kalacha beach is located 30 kms. from Mapusa and 42 kms. from Panaji. The beach can only be reached by foot by taking a walk along the north of Arambol beach.
To the north of the beach is a high hilltop which is a favorite spot amongst the tourists for para gliding and hang gliding. Often in the evenings, seeing a dozen para gliders in the air at the same time is not an uncommon sight here. Many tourists specially visit this place with their gliders. The para gliders can also be seen from the Terekhol fort ramparts located a few kilometers to the north of the beach. The beach also has a fresh water lagoon at its northern end. Kalacha is one of the most scenic amongst the beaches in North Goa.
If you have a car or bike, getting to Kalacha beach is much convenient. A rocky path leads to the beach. One can find numerous stalls selling various merchandise such as handicrafts, music cd's, beachwear and posters along this path. Since the beach is inaccessible through road, it is secluded.
