The Safa Masjid is located near Ponda city. It is one of the oldest mosque in Goa. It was built by Ibrahim Adilshan of Bijapur in the year 1560. Safa Masjid has unique beauty surrounded by widespread garden with numerous fountains, a massive water tank. It highlights Islamic architecture, during the 15th century and is marked as a heritage site by the Archaeological survey of India.

The masjid is one of the 27 mosques built by Ibrahim Adil Shah in 1560. It is a small single chambered mosque with a tiled roof having a flight of stairs in front. A masonry colonnade adorns the outer periphery of the mosque platform surmounted by finials. However many of the original columns are missing. Adjacent to the mosque and to the south of it is a masonry water tank measuring 30 x 30 meters with Mihrab design. The mosque and the tank were fronted on the east by a garden of charbagh type with laterite walkways. A broad road from the east leads with a flight of steps to the precincts.
