The Kesarval Spring is located 22 kms away from Panaji, near the Verna plateau, off the Panaji-Margao highway. This Spring is known to have medicinal properties. It emerges from hard compact rock. It is surrounded by dense undergrowth, tropical woodlands, betel nut palms and lush green hills.

In the earlier days only a stony route could lead to the spring. Later on steps were built for people to visit the spring. The word "Kesar-val" is derived from the Indian word for eagles that used to maintain a colony here in the forested slopes.

Many people from far and wide visit this spring just to take a dip in it with the belief that it will cure their ailments with its healing properties. Some people still swear that the spring waters have magical curative properties, which can heal skin and eye ailments. The Kesarval Spring wears its best look during monsoon with terraced hills and the lush greenery surrounding it. The Spring can be visited anytime during the day.
