Patnem beach lies to the south of Palolem beach just over a small hillock at the southern end of Palolem. It is less crowded than it's northern neighbor, Palolem, but no less in splendor or beauty. Patnem beach lies at a distance of 42 kms. from the city of Margao. If you want to be away from the crowds and hustle bustle at Palolem, Patnem beach is a great option one should consider.The beach has plenty of pine trees along its shores.
The beach has a large sandy stretch with a line of beach huts and fewer trees when compared to other beaches in Goa and so has an empty look especially in the afternoons. There a plenty of shops selling clothes, beach wear, refreshments and souvenirs on the road leading to the beach. There are buses to this beach from Canacona town; which in turn can be reached by bus from Margao.
