Cavelossim can be reached from Margao by bus, although the frequency of buses is low. Private transport such as cabs, auto rickshaws are also available from Margao.

Cavelossim beach lies just north of Mobor beach. The beach is sandwiched between the river Sal along the east and the Arabian sea to its west. Being a quite beach with clean sands, Cavelossim attracts a lot of tourists every year. There are many resorts and beach shacks in the area. The beach is located at a distance of 16 kms. from Margao city.
The beach has shrub vegetation and a few palm trees along its shores. Finding accommodation is also relatively easy as the place has a good resorts. Besides relaxing on the beach one can also go for dolphin sighting trips, bird watching and boat trips both in the sea and in the Sal river.
